Family with a 13-year old girl and a 10-year old boy seeks a LIVE-IN Manny or Nanny to assist with the care of their son in their Severna Park, Maryland home. Quiet, wooded suburb just 15 minutes from Baltimore and 45 minutes from Washington DC. Private room and bath, personal office or sitting room. The family is warm, loving, and they enjoy spending time together. They are active in their community and church. Grandparents live nearby. The ideal candidate will have the desire to work with children long-term and have a great deal of patience, know how to set and maintain boundaries, and have experience working with children who have anxiety, low self-esteem and ODD behaviors. Experience with ABA therapy, or having a big heart & the desire to pursue a field working with children in a similar capacity, is highly desired. 

Care would be predominately the 10-year boy. He may be on the Autism spectrum and is in the process of being evaluated. He is highly intelligent and a good student, but has been bullied by other kids. He is currently exhibiting disruptive, and sometimes aggressive behavior at home, though this is not the norm. Mom and Dad say he is a sweet boy 95% of the time and they just need someone as an additional member of the parenting team to offer support, leadership, positive reinforcement, and companionship. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day schedule of the 10-year old boy
  • Foster good behavior
  • Provide guidance and leadership
  • Strengthen and advocate good relationships
  • Model positive attitude & problem solving skills
  • Support parental objectives
  • Driving
  • Swimming & all outdoor activities
  • Assist with homework
  • Monitor preparation for school
  • Implement therapeutic strategies
  • Light housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Run errands as needed
  • Some travel may be possible

Schedule

Monday-Friday 45-50 hours per week Guaranteed 40 hours

Before/after school and some evening care.  After school, the duties would include transportation to activities, therapy, horse therapy, and help with school work, dinner with the family, and bedtime routine.

Requirements:

  • Proper documentation to work in the USA
  • 2-4 years of experience with children
  • High school diploma (College or Trade School preferred)
  • Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
  • Must follow CDC recommended protocols for COVID-19
  • Driver’s license & Clean driving record
  • CPR & First Aid 
  • Swimming
  • Organizational skills
  • Patience
  • Must pass a detailed background check
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs, ride a bike, and be physically active indoors and outdoors.

Compensation 

W-2 employee $1000+ per week  DOE 

Guaranteed 40 hours per week plus overtime 

10-days paid vacation

3-5 days PTO
