Frequently Asked Questions for Nannies 2017-10-10T20:02:34+00:00
What’s the difference between Choose The Right Nanny and those online nanny sites? 2017-10-09T22:27:45+00:00
Choose The Right Nanny is a professional agency. There is actually very little comparison to an online nanny agency. These online, so called agencies are nothing more than unmonitored databases. There are no standards or requirements, no screening process, or personal expertise to assist you through the process. Literally anyone with an email address and a phone number can register as a family. Your time and effort is required to weed through a myriad of members and your personal privacy and safety is at stake each time you communicate with a potential employer. Working with Choose The Right Nanny you have a distinct advantage over other candidates that seek employment online or Craigslist advertisement. You will be treated as a professional by staff who respect your career needs
How long must I commit to work for? 2017-10-09T22:27:12+00:00
Full time placement: Choose The Right Nanny only works with candidates who are willing to make a minimum 1 year commitment.On-Call or Temporary: Candidates must register and work at least once per quarter to remain active. If I have to move to the location who pays for relocation costs? 2017-10-09T22:26:35+00:00
Once a candidate has accepted a position, their employer is responsible for providing them with the appropriate relocation cost. Most families choose to fly the nanny candidate to their home. Once the nanny has completed their 1 year commitment, the family is responsible for paying their airfare home. Should you be unable to fulfill your year commitment you will be responsible for your own transportation.
What duties are expected of a nanny? 2017-10-09T22:26:00+00:00
Nannies are primarily responsible for the care and welfare of the children. Nannies may be responsible for light housekeeping duties in regard to the children, simple meals, laundry, driving to and from school and activities, and some errands. Other duties may be negotiated by your employer prior to hire. Be sure to ask for a detailed job description to ensure a successful working relationship.
Do I need to provide my own vehicle? 2017-10-09T22:25:25+00:00
This generally depends on whether you are full-time, part-time, live-in or live-out, and the scope of your position. If you have relocated to the job site, most families provide a vehicle for the nanny during work hours and some include usage during their personal time. In some instances, a family may negotiate with the nanny to bring a car to the job. If you are local and live out, you must have reliable transportation to get to and from the job site
Do I have to pay a fee? 2017-10-09T22:24:46+00:00
Candidates never have to pay a registration fee for our placement service. There may be fees for background checks, shirts, CPR/First Aid classes (if needed) and voluntary educational opportunities.

On average you will work 8-12 hours per day. This can vary per family and is negotiated during the interview and hiring process. Most full-time positions are between 45-60 hours per week.
What about health insurance? 2017-10-09T22:23:36+00:00

Some families will contribute towards health insurance. Choose The Right Nanny placement counselors can provide you with more information regarding health insurance options.

If you make more than $1700 from one employer in a calendar quarter, you are required by Federal law to pay your appropriate share of the taxes on your income. Being paid “on the books” protects both the family and the care provider. When a family pays their portion of the employment taxes on household employees, they also give more credibility to their position. Choose The Right Nanny placement counselors will provide you more information regarding taxes and other options.

Do you offer a referral bonus? 2017-10-09T22:17:15+00:00

Yes! We want other nannies and caregivers just like you! If you have a friend that meets our requirements, we would love to work with them. If we are able to place your long term referral, we will pay you $100. This fee after they have been on their job 60 days. Short-term candidates will earn you a gift card.
